Integrating the principles of human rights and gender equality into the programs and policies of political parties in Tunisia and Libya

More than a year after the beginning of the project entitled “Integrating the principles of human rights and gender equality into the programs and policies of political parties in Tunisia and Libya” that was launched by Democratic Transition and Human Rights Support Center DAAM, and supported by the European Endowment for Democracy EED, Today’s DAAM Center received the first version of ” The Guide on Integrating Human Rights and Gender Equality Principles in the Political Field in Tunisia and Libya” which is characterized by its unique quality at the Arab level, In addition, the guide was based on a participatory approach as well as skills and techniques, which were based on a micro-reading of the reality of political parties when dealing with human rights issues to analyzing it and monitoring its details before readdressing it in the light of guidelines in order to enable it to reach a more relevant approach to human rights culture and social reality.

DAAM center wishes that the echo of this work will be seen effectively in political parties institutions’ programs in Tunisia and Libya and that all organizations and countries would be aware that the adoption and activation of the culture of human rights and gender is a tributary are the reasons of its success and not just an ideological burden to carry it to simulate the standards of modernity.

On this special occasion, DAAM center would like to thank all the organizations and political parties that believed in the idea and its methodology and opened the doors of its headquarters to the Center’s team and to the youth group involved in this project. The Center also expresses its sincere thanks and appreciation to the youth and activists from Tunisia and Libya who have been involved in this project and contributed in a serious and tangible way to its success.

The Center also thanks all those who contributed to bringing this work to light in its present form, either directly or indirectly.

DAAM center is working to provide an English version of the guide in the near future.
