With names and statements, we monitor all the incidents of arrest against 582 persons due to commemorating the first anniversary of September 20 demonstrations

Until yesterday evening, Sunday, 27/09/2020, 582 cases of arrest against persons because of the events of September 20, 2020 were documented and monitored in a number of governorates. We were able to monitor 582 cases only and 580 were referred to the Supreme State Security Prosecution pending investigations in case no. 880 of 2020 by the Supreme State Security. And 12 persons were referred to the Public Prosecution.

The main charges against all the accused persons are :

Joining a terrorist group, spreading false news and statements and misusing of social media are the main charges against all of the accused persons. While there are others of the accused persons faced additional charges together with the main charges, such as: gathering or participating in a gathering or attacking or financing or destroying.

The Public Prosecution issued a statement on Sunday, September 17, 2020, that the Attorney General Counselor ordered the release of 68 children among the accused persons in case no. 880 of 2020 under the investigations of the “Supreme State Security Prosecution”. This decision to release took place after obligating their families and guardians to protect and give them the proper care, and to prevent them from committing such acts in the future in order to not face danger again.  Except children, all the accused persons who were referred to the prosecution, were imprisoned for 15 days pending investigations in case no. 880 of 2020 under the investigations of the Supreme State Security.

It is noted that all the prisoners are in the Central Security Camps until distributing them to prisons. Some of the arrested witnessed that the Central Security Camps have hundreds of prisoners who have not yet been referred to the prosecution.
