Tunisian organizations and associations condemn the criminal operation in Akouda and call for the disclosure of local and regional networks that financially and politically support terrorism
As a result of the terrorist attack that took place in the city of Akouda on September 6, 2020, the Tunisian organizations and associations undersigning underneath,
- Strongly condemn this criminal act and express the most sincere sympathy to the families of the victims, the martyr Sami Mrabit and the wounded Rami Limam.
- Emphasize that the terrorist takfiri phenomenon in Tunisia is not an episodic one, rather it is the product of an environment of educational, cultural and intellectual deformation, and an ideological washing that has been programmed and funded locally, regionally and internationally for decades to spread violence and hatred in Tunisian society, divide its people and dismantle its means of immunity and resistance to domestic and foreign aggressors.
- Emphasize that this sprawling penitential octopus is integrated into the unified strategy of the lobbies and the mafias of financial, administrative, security and media corruption to ensure their interests and control over the Tunisian people by extorting them, intimidating them and bartering them by choosing between their "security" and between bombings, assassinations and indiscriminate killings.
- Consider that confronting the terrorist phenomenon will not succeed unless it addresses all its dimensions within a comprehensive approach, and that the first condition for achieving this requires the full declaration of the truth by severing with the deliberate and systematic obfuscation struck around it over the past years, and the need to uncover the local and regional networks that support the logistical, financial and political support of terrorism. In Tunisia, it is important to prosecute those responsible for the Akouda crime and its predecessors who are behind the planning and implementation, and ensure that they do not escape punishment.
